| CARDCALL’S IMPROVED RANGE OF PHONECARDS
cardcall is pleased to announce the re-launch of its entire range of phonecards to bring you a new layout that is clear and easy to read.
Since last year, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has been engaged in an exercise across the prepaid phonecard industry in Australia to review, amongst other things, the advertising on phonecards. The ACCC commenced Federal Court proceedings against cardcall, in which cardcall admitted that it had engaged in misleading or deceptive conduct as a result of statements made in cardcall’s promotional materials.
The main purpose of this review is to ensure that customers are not in anyway misled or deceived, and that customers actually get the advertised benefits from phonecards.
This initiative is strongly supported by cardcall and as part of this we have re-launched all of our phonecards, in order to make our entire range clearer for customers.
cardcall believes that stakeholders including Retailers, customers and service providers will benefit from improved experience with phonecards, including:
- A layout that is clear and legible displaying all terms and conditions including any additional fees
- A new range of advertisement and point of sale that carries the new & improved layout
- A new format for terms & conditions - these are now listed in bullet points and in a larger font
- The actual rates per minute rather than calling duration of each phonecard
cardcall is particularly sensitive to the multicultural aspects of its customers and the inherent challenges from language differences. A link to a phonecard guide in different languages and a misleading advertising notice have been placed on the right of this page. Both were ordered to be placed by the Federal Court. We will be distributing posters and flyers of this Guide to all Retailers and have also initiated a major advertising campaign focusing on the educational aspects of phonecards.
It is our promise to you…
